| Yes, unfortunately I am getting terribly busy right now. Tomorrow (Thursday) I am heading to our church to start setting up for a garage sale for a fund raiser for those of us going to Russia this summer. The actual sale is Friday and Saturday. Saturday some other members on our team are coming up and the girls are staying at my house. Sunday we are doing a presentation thing in church, and then Monday the team is hanging out. Next week I will be desperately trying to finish school and packing. Then on June 3rd I leave for my summer job. Quick Update: I FINALLY GOT MY LICENSE!!! Yes! Now I can drive myself! The only thing is that my parents got me a stick shift car for me to drive. Do you know how hard it is to drive a stick shift? Go ask someone, they can tell you that it is deifinately not easy. Anyway, so I have a week and a half to get somewhat good (at least better than I am right now) at driving a stick so I can get back and forth from my summer job when I have a day off. Could you guys be praying for me right now? I am at a point in my life where I am really not sure what God wants me to do with my life. I have two desires in my heart right now, and I don't know if they are both from Him or if one of them is what He has planned for me. I don't really want to go into too much detail about this, so I am going to beat around the bush sorry guys. Just please be praying that God would show me what He has planned for me, and that He would provide the means for me to do whatever it is He has planned. Thanks, guys! mood: Pretty good | | |
| Um, yeah, no title for this. Goodness, I haven't updated this thing for a long time. Things are getting busier and busier for me. I am trying to finish up school by the end of May. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but this summer, a few of us from our youth group are going on a mission's trip to Russia to serve in a summer camp and work with the kids there. On May 5, we are having a Fajita Feed to raise money for the trip. So yes, that is coming up--and really fast I might add. I am in charge of the decorations--a huge job!--and right now I am in the middle of that, and running into snags. We are using photo trees as center pieces for the tables, and I found out tonight that the lady who has them is still looking for the majority of them--and I need them on Sunday. And I am trying to get 54 bell peppers for candles. So right now I am in a pretty crazy time with trying to get all these decorations done. So please be praying for me! I found out on Sunday that one of my best friends broke up with her boyfriend when she visited him. I know it was really hard for her to do--she was absolutely devestated--but she said something needed to be done because it just wasn't working. He isn't doing really well this year with school, and he hurt her really bad when she visited. So my heart is aching for my friend right now, because I know they both liked each other, and they were together for a long time. Well, I think that is all I have to write. mood: a little overwhelmed | | |
| Easter was nice and quiet for me. Thanks to Todd, he ate the Easter bunny, so there was no bunny to distract us from the true meaning of Easter. Our family went to church, where the pastor preached a VERY good sermon. His introduction was on three reasons why the resurrection is important, and the rest of his sermon we spent taking a “test” based on 1 John to tell if we are truly Christians. It was a very convicting message. It made you think about the questions really hard and ask yourself if you really answer the questions “yes”. After church, we came home and had an AMAZING meal. My mom is like the best cook in the world (according to our family ;) ). Then we went hiking on a really beautiful trail close to our house. It was so cool to get out and see God’s creation. It was one of the most beautiful trails I have ever been on. It totally reminded me of something out of LOTR where the elves lived. *sighs* gorgeous. Then I drove (scary! I had to drive on the freeway. *gasps*) to Starbucks, and then home. We watched a few shows and then cleaned the house for today. My grandma came over for breakfast (cinnamon rolls: again amazing!) and then she left with my dad. There is some work at my grandma’s house that she wants Dad to do. Dad is coming home late tonight with the Honda, which is going to be my car until I can buy my own car: it has stick shift! Ahhhhh! I have to learn stick! Everyone says it’s really hard at first. A friend of mine said that once you get the hang of it, though, it’s really fun. *I hope he’s right* Mmmmmm….I think that is all I have to report for right now. mood: good | | |
| I think I spelled that right. The work day went amazingly well. We completely gutted out the janitor's closet, the men and women's bathrooms, and removed one wall from the old nursery that ran into the janitor's closet. Twas a blast! The guys had fun taking the toilets and setting them out front on the steps in the back parking lot as a sort of art thing. It was funny--but weird. Oh, and I learned how to open a locked door without picking the lock. Hehehe. The men's bathroom door was locked and no one could find the key or figure out how to pick the lock, so I took a Phillips' screwdriver and removed the doorknob, and then my dad figured out you turn the mechanism inside and the door opens. So now that I know that, I'm thinking of keeping a screwdriver in my bag... Today I had a dentist appointment--no cavities! YES!!! Eighteen years old and I have never had a cavity. After my mom and I got home, our family worked out in the yard. It was nice to finally get outside and do something instead of being stuck indoors all day. I worked on the flowerbed under my bedroom window--which was a lot of work. Mom and I transplanted plants into the flowerbed, and then I raked the bed out and put mulch over the whole thing. I was working on transplanting more plants to another bed but the mosquitos got so bad our family finally called it quits. Oh, and my dad finally got the waterfall to work! It's so exciting. And now we are completely exhausted. mood: doing good, but tired | | |
| Well, this week the private school that the majority of our youth group goes to has the week off. So guess what? Our youth pastor has planned a youth service day tomorrow and airsoft on Friday. And apparently I am somewhat popular because my closest friend isn't going to go to the service day tomorrow if I don't go, and Shur'tugal on NarniaWeb (yes, I know her in real life) is giving me the puppy dog eyes and trying to get me to go to the airsoft thing on Friday. I feel loved! *tries to ignore the puppy dog eyes waiting for an answer in her PM box on NW* So I am going to the service day tomorrow. However, there is no way in this world that I can do the airsoft thing on Friday. Sure the private school has the week off, but I don't. I have loads of school to get done by the end of May. *Laughs* May? What May? As soon as May comes, it will go so fast I'll be going "Where did it go?" (Interpretation: May is sooooooooo busy) So, yes, I need a LOT of prayer. Update on my story: For those of you who don't know, I am writing a story that I have been putting on Narnia Writer's Guild to kinda push me to write it and finish it. It is going really well! I haven't had a writer's block yet, everything is flowing smoothly, and it is just going really well! My friend and I can't wait for the end of May! I mean the very end of May. On the last Sunday of May we are off to staff training at a Christian camp we are working at this summer. We are both working in the kitchen (our favorite place there) and the important thing is I get to spend time with her before she leaves for college. We have been close friends for eight years now, and it is going to be hard next fall not having her around church. *sobs* She is still trying to plan a way for me to go to the same college she is going to in the near future....so we can be roommates and then the room will always be clean and decorated. There's ulterior motive for ya.lol. Today I made a list of the characteristics I am going to start praying for for my future husband. It is something my mom did when she was a teenager, and she suggested I try it. So I made my list and I am going to start praying through them. No, I do not have a boyfriend or any person of interest. There have been three guys in my life that I have liked, and...well...let's just say that God showed me all to well that none of them were the ones He had planned for me. It did hurt, but you know what? I learned something through those experiences. I learned that I need to just give the situation over to God and let Him bring around the right guy at the right time. Do I want a boyfriend? Sure I do, but I think it would be a lot better to just wait. God knows me better than I know myself and He knows when the right time is for me to be in a relationship--and I'm okay with that. Okay, I am going to give in and try this mood thing I've been seeing on other's blogs. mood: pretty good | | |
